Our next stop was Bramston Beach. It was beautiful of course! I can only imagine what it looks like when its not so foggy and wet! Here is where we had lunch and made damper (bush) bread. It was so good! For those of you who are interested, just mix the following ingredients, about a cup of flour, 3 pinches of salt, 3 pinches of raw sugar, 1/3 cup beer, and 'sultanas' (raisins) if you wish. I have to say, hot with butter it was pretty awesome ;) I think it would have been nice with some cinnamon! We wandered on the beach for a bit, laid out on my towel to tan in the not-sun before getting back onto the van.
Our last stop of the day was at Etty Bay. A beach even more beautiful than the last. Right against the forest, it is known for frequent sightings of cassowaries! An endangered flightless bird of Australia, a little smaller than an emu. I didn't get to see one but I did see it's tracks on the sand! We walked along the ocean, admiring the designs made by the water trickling out of the forest onto the sand, winding through the rocks, forming shallow pools, home to heaps of crabs and tiny fishes.
By that time it was already 4 and all we had left was an hour and half long ride back to the city, where we caught the next bus back to the lodge. I ended my night just hanging out and watching movies.
I'm beat! Time for bed :) More tomorrow after my next trip!
